Rotary Charity Golf Day PDF Print E-mail

Westminster East Rotary Club have organised the golf day event for the last eight years at Kingswood Golf Club. With the generous support of participants and sponsorship we have been able to raise in excess of £115,000 for children charities such as Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and Shooting Star Children’s Hospice. We have created a dedicated website for our golf day where you will find interesting information and useful links. This site will be updated continuously during the next few months and will be an additional tool to keep you informed.

We hope to be able to gain your support again this year. You may join us with a golf team and compete on the day or contribute to this great cause in a number of other ways. These include for companies, tee sponsorship or advertising in our website and for individuals the opportunity to donate a prize or cash donation.

This year we have been fortunate to secure Pine Ridge Golf Club, located at Old Bisley Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU16 9NX, one of the most picturesque golf courses in Surrey, for our 9th Golf event on Thursday, 1st October 2009. We believe that Pine Ridge will prove to be a very popular choice due to its beautiful setting and the extensive facilities. The superb 18 hole, par 72 golf course measures 6400yds from the championship tees & is ranked by independent survey as one of the Country's top 10 public courses for quality and value. This presents an ideal venue for a great day’s golf.

On the day we aim to start gathering around 7:30am for a shot gun start at 9.00am, followed by a very enjoyable golf day, a wonderful 3-course meal and various competitions, prize draws and tombola prizes. The usual individual, team, yellow ball, individual ladies, nearest the pin and longest drive trophies will be contested for. More information regarding the format of the day is available here.

The entry price is £80 per person or £320.00 for team entries (team of 4 golfers), and all golfers will automatically receive a free entry in our grand draw which offers the opportunity to win some amazing prizes. Priority will once again be given to all former participants to claim their places up until 31st July 2009, whereupon any remaining places will be made available to new golfers.

If you're interested in participating, please complete this booking form, or click here to download a pdf form which you can download, print and after completion return to:

Our President Issa Qandil with the full support of all Westminster East Rotary Club members is looking to raise funds for Shooting Star Children’s Hospice. In times of financial turbulence your support is in even greater demand.

Please be assured that a warm welcome awaits you at Pine Ridge Golf Club on the 1st of October 2009 should you decide to support this great charity golf day.

The Rotary Club of Westminster East is working in partnership with DangerousGround to arrange an 11-day Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle ride. The ride starts at Lands End on 9 September and finishes in John O’ Groats on the 19th.

The ride is open to all Rotarians and the hope is that 25 Rotarians take up the challenge, raising funds for a charity of their choice.

As well as raising funds for good causes, the ride is also designed to increase awareness of Rotary throughout the UK; its charitable and community work and its role in assisting development overseas.
